Amazing Photos.

I saw these amazing family photos on Design Mom and could swear I'm looking at a J.crew ad. They took them in Central Park before they move across the country. What a great way to capture a time in their lives.

I love the kids standing on books! How creative and adorable.

Why I'm Lucky...

This is the person I get to spend my days with. He is 5 months and as happy as can be {mostly}. Yesterday he had to get shots and he barely whimpered, and then started laughing...this kid is so cool and I'm so honored to be his mother.

Happy Weekend.

What a Monday...

If I could edit this day out of my calendar, I probably would. Here is the Reader's Digest version of my Monday....

  • Harrison wakes up at 2:00 am and stays up for an hour.

  • Painters come over at 8:30 am to start taping, putting plastic everywhere and painting.

  • Harrison only takes a 20 minute morning nap {usually 2 hours}.

  • Brooks throws up because he is overexcited that the painters are here putting plastic everywhere.

  • We have no internet connection all day because of painting being done in office.

  • I accidentally back up into one of the painter's cars. His car is fine...my bumper is scratched and missing paint. {Luckily husband is kind and understanding}.

  • Harrison cries at every person who tries to say hi to him.

  • Try to call Cambodia to talk to mom and end up talking to someone for 15 minutes just trying to spell the last name...still didn't talk to her.

  • As unlocking front door, stroller rolls away on it's own, and it and Harrison fall off our first step. {He is fine...I now highly advocate Peg Perego car seats}.

  • Painters didn't paint all the trim correctly.

  • Harrison screams/cries at the top of his lungs all through dinner.

  • J. gets on my case that the house is a mess.

  • I finish the day by going to La Grande at 8:00 pm for a brownie and eat the whole thing before I get home...now I feel sick.

Here's to a better Tuesday.

To see what the painting fuss is all about...go here.

Easter Bunny.

One of my favorites, Kate Spade, and her daughter "Bea" at FAO Schwartz Bunny Hop.

I love the idea that as thousands of children go to sleep tonight, they envision the Easter Bunny slipping into their homes and delivering baskets filled with chocolate, toys, and candy. Their is such a sweet innocence in that kind of thinking.

Sometimes I miss being young and believing in magic.

Happy Easter...hope your "bunnies" bring you delightful treats.

Good.

Things are good on this particular Friday. Harrison is getting back to his old self, J. has the day off, and I'm having lunch with two of my favorites. Plus the weather is a perfect April 80 degrees.

Happy {Good} Friday.

Tired.

It's been a long week.

It started with Harrison and I both getting sick last Monday. Since then, there have been countless sleepless nights while he is up every few hours, and I'm still coughing and blowing my nose every 20 minutes. Today topped it all off with our 3rd trip to the Dr. to find out that Harrison has an ear infection and so much congestion, that they sent us home with a breathing machine to administer every 4 hours.

My heart breaks for him. I can't wait to see the magical effects of antibiotics working after 48 hours and have my old, smiley Harrison back.

In the meantime...all I want to do is eat tons of sweets and watch The Real Housewives of New York City.

Gratitude.

I'm feeling so grateful for....

  1. Easter coming this weekend and finally being able to eat sweets again {I gave them up for Lent and have completely stuck with it!}

  2. That I've been able to talk to my mom multiple times...even while she's in Thailand.

  3. We have family close by to help take care of our children {current and future....it really does take a village.}

  4. I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel with Harrison's week long cold...ughh.

  5. That my husband and I are reading this book for 40 days and discussing it every night at dinner.

Pandora's Box.

I'm probably the last person to find out about this, since I've spent the past week in a fog of bronchitis and a sick baby, but I've discovered Pandora. It's my dream come true. You put in a song or artist and it creates a radio station with all artists/songs you'll like.

Last night I put in Enya and it played serene, ethereal music while I fed Harrison dinner. I felt so calm. Today I put in A Fine Frenzy and have been listening to the best music while I'm on the computer. Now, I have to get my husband to put it on his iphone so I can put it on the house speakers....pure bliss. I'm in heaven.
