What a great way to start Lent...
I saw this today and think it is one of the coolest things I've seen in a while. This family in Argentina started taking photos of themselves back in 1976, when it was just the husband, Diego, and his wife. Then continued taking photos every year on the same day, June 17th, of every member of the family. It is so amazing and beautiful to watch the progression of these people as the years pass by. J. and I are definately starting this! See the whole progression up to 2007 here.
Among my repertoire of 'favorite blogs' was one called Manhattan Chien, about a french bulldog living in Manhattan. I loved reading it and thought the owner was so artistic and clever with his blog and posts. I hadn't checked it in a while. Then last night, while I was scolling through my favorites I hit on this one, and read that in November, Eti, the french bulldog had died of a brain lesion. I feel really upset and sad thinking about my own little Brooks, and knowing I will undoubtly outlive him...this is the hardest thing about having pets. Their departure is always too soon.
I think I'm going to miss all the Superbowl action around here. I kinda like taking Brooks in the backyard, and hearing Wycleaf Jean singing at the Waterfront at 10 pm. Oh well...maybe in another decade or so.
